The current trend that I just couldn’t get on board with (at first) is loafers. But, it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with them. They made their way back into the fashion world during Fashion Week, and they are all the rage. Although they tend to be pricey shoes, brands such as BP of Nordstrom have come out with styles that are not so expensive and won’t break the bank. There are two things that make these shoes so popular:
- They are so versatile. Whether you are running to class, or heading in for an internship, you can put together such a trendy and cute look. They can look laid back or dress an outfit up.
- There are many styles. If you want to go for a more feminine look, there’s embellished styles. They have bows, sparkles, embroidery and even unique colors. You can choose between slip on loafers, or a full on shoe. You can choose to have a flat or even a heel. Even though it is a popular look, everybody can have their own spin and take, through the type of shoe they pick.
Because of all the options available with this this shoe, it can be difficult to put together a statement look. Because of that, I have chosen a few loafer-centered looks that I personally like.
Look 1: By wearing loafers that are colorful, you can add a pop of color to a plain outfit. By pairing them with jeans and a cute, but simple top you can focus on the trendy and oh-so-cute shoes you have on.
Look 2: If you are looking for incredibly comfy and laid back, I would go for a pair of slip on loafers. Pair them with a sweater and a messy bun, and you are ready to go! Just grab a coffee and you are prepped for a day at the farmers market or even a day of shopping.
Look 3: If you are getting ready for an interview or are heading to the office you can pair these shoes with almost anything in your closet. I suggest pairing them with either nice jeans or slacks, and a blouse. To achieve the ultimate power woman ensemble, add a tailored blazer over the top and you are ready to kill it at the office!
A shoe that I thought would was for just my grandparents has once again made a comeback and I am loving it! As I get ready to head into the business world, but am not quite ready to give up my laidback look, these are just the shoes for me!
