On October 11th, San Diego State played against Colorado State University at San Diego
State’s Sports Deck taking home the win with a final score of 3 – 1.

Starting off the game strong, the Aztecs controlled the ball for a majority of the first half. The
storm rains brought slippery grass, holding the players back on both sides, making it hard to
maintain control of the ball.

The Aztec dominance shone through despite the rough conditions, ending the first half with five
shot attempts, two of which were on goal and saved by the Rams Goalie Addison Huber.
The two on-goal attempts were made by midfielder Alexyz Nakamoto in the eighth minute of the
game, and forward Alannah Gonzalez in the 41st minute.

Neither team scored at the end of the first half, but this would quickly change as the teams
moved into the second.

11 minutes into the second half, Rams Midfielder Avery Boulom got a penalty kick after a foul in
the box and scored, giving them the first point of the game. At a score of 1 – 0, this goal did not
deter the Aztecs from keeping up the fight.

Six minutes later, Victoria Miller brought San Diego their first point, tying up the game 1 – 1.
Miller accomplished this with assistance from teammates Alexis Leath and KK
Chowana-Bandhu.

Starting and playing all 13 games so far, Miller proved herself to be a dominant player this
game, securing all of the goals for SDSU.

A hand ball by the Rams secured a penalty kick for the Aztecs, with Miller scoring yet again in
the 63rd minute of the game, bringing the score to 2 – 1.

Assisted by Karoline Lundstrom in the 66th minute, Miller made the final goal of the game,
solidifying the Aztec lead to 3 – 1, making it difficult for the Rams to come back from.

This hat trick, the 13th in school history and first since the 2020 – 21 season, solidified the junior
as a standout on the women’s soccer team, making her a player to watch for fans.

San Diego State now has eight wins, three losses, and two ties this season. Their next game is
at Washington State on October 22nd at 4:00pm. The next home game for the Aztecs is on
October 25th at the SDSU Sports Deck against Fresno State at 12:00pm.
