Montreal Edges Tampa Bay Out of Playoffs on Strange Penalty Call

The Montreal Canadiens won 4-3 on a late 3rd period goal by Max Pacioretty to sweep the Tampa Bay Lightning out of the playoffs.  The win came off a rather “rigged” penalty call by official Chris Lee, who called a trip on Lightning player Cedric Paquette with 2:11 left to play.  This led to a turnover by the Lightning and Pacioretty’s goal after the Lightning had come back to tie the game.

The Canadiens now have a long wait before facing the winner of the Boston-Detroit series.
