We all know how dangerous Team Canada is. We saw it with the golden goal in Vancouver in 2010. This year, all their big names are back–Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, etc.–and it seems like we don’t have any big names, but if you think about it, we do.
- Phil Kessel – the only bright spot in another dismal Leafs season
- Max Pacioretty – one of the only goal scorers for the Canadiens this season, also has a hat trick in his last five games
- Dustin Brown
- Patrick Kane – enough said
- Ryan Callahan
- Ryan Kesler
- T.J. Oshie
- Zach Parise
- Joe Pavelski
And we have a great defensive lineup, too:
- Paul Martin
- Brooks Orpik
- Ryan Suter
And the goalies:
- Jonathan Quick
- Ryan Miller
- Jimmy Howard
Miller and Howard both have let in more goals than they care to admit this season, but I think they can buckle down under Olympic pressure should something happen to the starter, Quick.
So while it doesn’t seem like we have “superstar status,” we have the tools necessary to win at least silver. Go Team USA!
