Lil Yachty is a stage presence that everyone would have been excited to see. The show opened up with a dim stage and psychedelic imagery. The excitement of the crowd filled the entire room. Bodies were packed close to the stage, awaiting Lil Yachty with their phones out, ready to record him play.
He was accompanied by a full female band consisting of Monica Carter on drums,Téja Veal on bass, guitarist Quenequia Graves, Kennedy Avery Smith on keys, and two vocalists, Lea Grace Swinson and Romana R. Sainti. The crowd’s energy could not have been better.
People of all ages were there to see Lil Yachty and they were shouting at him with words of adoration and love.
The bold imagery behind the artists was beautiful and euphoric. The visuals definitely complimented Lil Yachty’s music.
The audience went especially hard during the widely loved DRAM hit, “Broccoli.”
It was a pleasure to watch and sing to Lil Yachty at SOMA that night. I could tell how much his fans appreciate him and he reciprocates the love back with his stage presence.
