Touching down in the city of Inglewood, which is still buzzing from Kendrick Lamar’s pop-out show, we’re counting down the days until the first weekend of August. The annual return of the EDM festival, Hard Summer, has fans raving about this year’s lineup. We are beyond ecstatic to announce we have been formally invited to cover the festival and we’re here to showcase some artists you need to see during the packed weekend!
GUDFELLA

Our fellow San-Diegan, Kyle Domingo, has flooded the electronic music scene by storm. From seeing him last year at a tiny pop-up show right on the beach, with just a deck and a disco ball above him, it was wild witnessing his growth in real-time. Months later, he signed to Thrive Music, went on tour, and is now sharing the stage with legends such as Tiesto and Illenium at festivals. It’s safe to say Gudfella is on a generational run.

BUNT.

Fans of Avicii and Fred Again will appreciate Germany’s hottest thing. What initially started as a fun project amongst two high school friends, Levi Wijk and Nicolas Crispin did not expect much to come from their music. After gaining traction, the duo signed with Geffen, then transitioned to Interscope Records. Crispin left the music duo, and Wijk continued to use BUNT. for his solo career.

JUELZ

A new wave of EDM trap has arrived. Catching the likes of top EDM trap producer, RL Grime, there was no doubt Juelz would become a sensation not just across Canada, but worldwide. Even though I’ve never seen Juelz live before, I’ve had multiple friends tell me witnessing his set while opening for RL Grime was one of the surreal experiences of their life. I have a feeling I might say the same thing about his set at Hard Summer this year.

NOTION

Considered a staple in the United Kingdom’s DnB EDM scene, the combination of NOTION’s drums, bass, and techno is what makes him stand out. With his first release on streaming platforms being in 2012, it’s clear NOTION is no rookie. Being the perfect edition to this year’s lineup, he is set for more successful years to come.

OPPIDAN

I cannot express how refreshing it is to stumble upon a female DJ. Oppidan’s electronic music journey started during quarantine, and she’s considered to be one of the fastest names to rise when it comes to the United Kingdom’s electronic music scene. Words genuinely cannot express my excitement for her set at Hard Summer.

CLOONEE
Cloonee via Instagram // @cloonee
Inspired by the lake in Ireland where he used to go fishing with his grandpa, Cloone has paved his own path in the EDM scene. With his debut in 2017, Cloonee’s breakthrough track ‘The Ciggie’ in 2019 pushed his career in a whole new direction – up. This techno-house expert has continued to grow since, especially after catching the attention of another techno-house expert, Chris Lake, a year later.

HAMDI
Hamdi via Instagram // @hamdimusic
Dubstep United Kingdom-based artist, Hamdi, has showcased his ability to be versatile with his sound through his whole discography. Debuting in 2016, the music scene didn’t realize his full potential until his 2022 release ‘Skanka’. As labels have been fighting over signing him, it’s clear no one in the game can keep up with him right now.
