On Saturday, August 10th, Dead and Company took their final bow at the newest wonder of the world, The Sphere in Las Vegas. Dead and Company held a residency at The Sphere and performed every weekend from May 16th to August 10th, playing 30 shows in their residency. With each night sold out, and every set different from the last, Dead and Company gave their Deadheads One More Saturday Night.

Led by Bob Weir (of the Grateful Dead), Dead and Company continues the Grateful Dead with new faces to support the missing pieces. Bob Weir and Mickey Hart are the only two members of the original Grateful Dead playing in the band to this day. They recruited an all-star lineup of musical geniuses to support the missing pieces. With John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane, Dead and Company is completed.

Touring since 2015 Dead and Company said Fare Thee Well to their loyal Deadheads with their 2023 tour. Yet unexpectedly they announced their true final stretch in Las Vegas at The Sphere not too long after their goodbyes in 2023. Produced by the mind of John Mayer, “Dead Forever” was a testament not only to the Grateful Dead but to their Deadheads. Using spectacular and awe-inspiring visuals, while playing long and complex improvised solos, “Dead Forever” revolutionized what a concert could be.

With their final show, Dead and Company took the chance to play some of their most popular songs such as “Help on the Way/Slipknot!”, “Franklin’s Tower”, “Feel like a Stranger”, “Brokedown Palace”, “Ripple”, and so much more. It was truly a night to remember as they also pulled out the stops with visuals that transported you into the sound. With The Sphere’s 160,000 square-foot LED screen, each visual captured you in the moment. Unlike other nights Dead and Company used as many of their visuals to give that crowd a special night. With a majority of their visuals and their most popular songs, Dead and Company took everyone to Shakedown Street and gave their Deadheads one last proper goodbye.

For the last nine years, Dead and Company has been truckin’ along and giving a new generation of listeners the experience of the dead. And with their final stop being at The Sphere they made sure to stamp their place in history. For the dead, The Music Never Stopped, and for The Sphere, the journey only began. For anyone interested in a concert held at The Sphere, I highly recommend this life-changing experience.
