Peachy Fest is a San Diego music festival that takes place at SOMA on two stages.

My evening started off with the high-energy set of Saint Luna, the first band to take over the Peachy stage. With five talented members, they charmed the crowd with their groovy, psychedelic-rock sound. They brought a high energy to the stage which could be felt from the sidelines. One of my favorite moments from their set was when they covered Half Full Glass Of Wine by Tame Impala; they captured the tune so perfectly.

Quannnic took over Peachy stage and they were absolutely mesmerizing. Their music has a dreamy blend of melancholic vocals and shoegaze sound. Each song flowed so perfectly into the other, creating a cinematic effect. The lead singer’s voice is haunted with vulnerability. The crowd was entranced by Quannnic’s ambient textures and the atmosphere started to feel very introspective as the sound enveloped us all at the main stage. We swayed in sync.

George Clanton. He took Peachy after Quannnic. Knowing George, the lights were dimmed and his familiar sound engulfed me once again, and amazed new George Clanton listeners. Behind him, he’s got his classic background full of ever-changing LED lights with familiar symbols and swirly patterns. A marijuana leaf, a TV error screen effect, you get the idea. He’s got this refreshing and vibey vaporwave-y sound that is totally addictive. Every transition he made carried his music on so seamlessly. For lack of a better term, he’s got this really distinct brand, sound, vibe, etc, that takes you somewhere else while you dance on the floor. Paired with his glowing electronic sound, he’s got this cool deep passionate voice. Sometimes he screams his lyrics with vigor which brings something new and spontaneous to every live performance that I’ve seen from him. He entered the crowds arms a couple times, holding faces, singing to them. For someone who is often a one man act, he is so impressive and his show takes you somewhere with the cool visuals and groovy loops.

I enjoyed the very end of the night with Enjoy. The crowd obviously went ballistic for Wyatt Shears, one half of The Garden. People were so happy and excited, covered in The Garden’s signature clown makeup. Circles began to open up, creating pits of Vada Vada fans dancing. Enjoy had such an awesome muddy sound, pairing perfectly with Wyatt’s vocals. They played I’ve Wasted So Much Time, which meant so much to me because I listened to Enjoy so much in high school.

I met the coolest and friendliest people at Peachy Fest. Here are some pictures of the individuals that made the environment so wonderful.
