I had the pleasure of seeing Yves Tumor at The Observatory in North Park on October 13th. My love for The Hellp, the opener, brought me to this gig and I was truly blown away by both of their performances. The Hellp brought out their electro-rock swag to the stage with their glitchy and fun sound.
When Yves Tumor members walked out onto the stage, I was enchanted by their mysterious aura. The dark and dim led lights made their performance all the more alluring.
Their beautiful new album is compared to the sounds of Prince and David Bowie.
The set list consisted of adored songs such as “Gospel For A New Century,” “Kerosene” and, “Romanticist.” Everyone in the audience was singing their hearts out.
One of my favorite moments was the transition from their song “Interlude” to “Parody.” The instrumentals melted into one another in such an angelic way.
Yves Tumor gave their all for the performance. The audience reflected how well their stage presence was.
Overall, Yves Tumor also has an unforgettable and visual style. Although their performance was overcast with dark colors and minimal light, their visual style reminds me of glam rock’s visual loudness.
